2025-2026 CHA Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Zoe H., our first scholarship recipient! Zoe is currently in her 3rd year at Linfield University, double majoring in Theatre Arts and Psychology. Her goal is to move onto grad school and pursue occupational therapy with children.

When asked how Celtic culture has helped shape her past as well as her future plans, Zoe shared the following: “Throughout my educational career, I have made it a priority to stay in touch with the fundamentals that make me who I am. Namely, Highland Dancing, which I have been competing in for 15 years. Even when the school year gets busy, I try and squeeze in a class or two a week, and register for local competitions like the McMinnville Scottish Festival. My Celtic community, namely my teachers and fellow dancers, have had my back for as long as I can remember. Having a community like this one where I will always feel like part of a family has been essential in my academic success. Getting my Associates with the BATD at 16 and teaching children at my dance studio was my first introduction to practical children’s work, specifically in mobility and physical success. That is to say, that I think I can credit my history with highland Dance for the love I have for my future career path. Watching my students figure things out and demonstrate their technique on stage is the most rewarding thing I can think of.”
Congratulations, Zoe!
